Coleman is a very popular brand of power inverters. They manufacture many models ranging from Coleman PMP1200 12 Volts DC to 120 Volts AC @ 60 Hz. 1200 Watts continuous 2400 Watts peak. All these models feature aspects like over voltage shutdown, under voltage shutdown, low voltage alarm, overload shutdown, thermal shutdown, short circuit shutdown, one 3-prong AC receptacle. Importantly they come with a two year warranty.
Although Coleman manufactures one of the finest high frequency modified sine wave inverters on the market, high frequency inverters do have a tendency to have a lower surge capacity than do the much more expensive low frequency inverters, when starting inductive loads. The manufacturers do not recommend running inductive loads such as 1/2 horsepower motors or 600 watt microwave ovens with any brand high frequency inverter, rated at less than 1700 watts continuous. Resistive loads such as heating elements and incandescent lighting do not produce a surge and are fine for high frequency inverters, up to their full continuous rating.
The Coleman name has long been the definition of dependability. The new Powermate DC to AC inverters are a big name with a reputation for reliability. Depending on the size of the inverter that one chooses, you can have plenty of power to run appliances such as lights, color TVs, radios, fax machines, microwaves, refrigerators, computers, fan, blender, drill etc. They will work with the engine off or on. Apart from unique designing they include multiple outlets, internal high speed fans, input range of 10 to 15.0 volts DC and have high surge capacities for starting those difficult inductive loads.
